What you receive
A young tree in a nursery bag, roughly 90–180 cm tall depending on stock. Photos show mature trees; you receive a young nursery plant that needs years to reach fruiting and shade size.
Suitability for the Faisalabad region
Jamun is a proven local species that handles Faisalabad heat well once established, and it appears in the official Punjab nursery schedule with February and September planting windows. It grows into a large, spreading tree, so plant it in open ground well away from buildings, boundary walls and drains. Over the years it doubles as a shade tree.
Best planting window: February & September
Care
Water a young tree deeply when the top 5 cm of soil is dry, especially through its first two summers; established trees are largely self-sufficient. Feed with well-rotted manure in late winter. Little pruning is needed beyond removing dead or crossing branches. Fruiting takes years on a young tree, and falling summer fruit stains paving — plan the planting spot with that in mind.
