Mango is central to Punjab horticulture and grows well around Faisalabad in full sun. A mango becomes a large tree, so it needs open ground well clear of walls, pipes and overhead lines — it is not a courtyard pot plant. Plant in the February or September windows from the official schedule, and shield young grafts from frost in their first winters and from the worst June sun.

Water a young tree deeply when the top 5 cm of soil is dry; established trees need far less except around flowering and fruit set. Feed with well-rotted manure and a balanced fertiliser in late winter. Remove any shoots emerging from below the graft union promptly.
