About this plant

A cheerful, fast-growing plant with arching striped leaves and dangling plantlets. Great for shelves, desks and hanging pots, and very forgiving of beginners.

What you receive

A rooted potted plant roughly 20–35 cm across. Photos show mature specimens with plantlets; you receive a young nursery plant.

Suitability for the Faisalabad region

Comfortable indoors or on a shaded veranda in the Faisalabad region, away from direct summer sun which bleaches the leaves. Bright indirect light keeps the striping strong. Some browning of leaf tips is common here — dry summer air and hard tap water both contribute — and is cosmetic rather than a sign of failure.

Care

Water when the top 3 cm of soil feels dry; the fleshy roots store water, so it forgives a missed watering. Feed lightly once a month in the growing season. Trim brown tips with scissors for tidiness; using stored or filtered water can reduce tip browning where tap water is hard. The plantlets on runners can be potted up to make new plants easily.
